Homemade Sourdough Blueberry Waffles: A Fluffy Breakfast Delight

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Sourdough Starter
  • 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Milk (any variety, such as almond milk)
  • 3/4 Cup Blueberries (fresh or thawed if frozen)
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 Large Eggs

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda.
  2. Add the sourdough starter, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  4. Preheat your waffle maker and set it to medium heat (around level 4).
  5. Pour about half a cup of batter onto the preheated waffle maker and close the lid.
  6. Cook the waffle according to the manufacturer’s instructions, until golden and crispy.
  7. Carefully remove the cooked waffle and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  8. Serve the warm waffles with sliced bananas and your favorite syrup for a delicious breakfast treat!
