Healthy Banana Bread


  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (such as Azure Market Chocolate Chips)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a 5×9 baking dish with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixer, combine the ripe bananas, honey (or maple syrup), and melted butter. Mash the bananas and mix on low speed until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing on low until incorporated.
  5. Incorporate the salt, baking soda, and cinnamon into the mixture on low speed.
  6. Gradually add the flour, mixing on low until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Slice and enjoy this delicious and nutritious treat!
