Detox Salad: Because Life’s Too Short for Boring Salads!
Serves 2 – 4 (Or 1 really hungry individual who’s determined to detox)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 a Green cabbage
- 1/2 purple cabbage
- Handful of arugula or spinach
- 1/2 a bunch of frisee lettuce (the fancy pants of lettuce)
- 3 green onions
- Shredded carrots
- 1/4 cup toasted or raw sesame seeds
Dressing:
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp tahini butter
- 3 Tbsp coconut aminos
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup or honey
- 1 small clove garlic
- 2 tsp fresh ginger
Now, here comes the fun part:
- Thinly slice the cabbage and roughly chop the arugula/spinach, and frisee lettuce. – dramatic knife skills encouraged.
- Thinly slice the green onions and carrots.
- Mix all the veggies together like they’re having the salad party of the year.
- Top this veggie bash with the dazzling dressing and sprinkle those sesame seeds like confetti at a salad celebration.
