An Immersive Evening of Food, Wine & Gathering in the Santa Cruz Mountains in partnership with Wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains

There is something about fall that makes us want to gather.

To light the candles a little earlier, linger around the table a little longer, pour another glass of wine, and share a beautiful meal with people we may have arrived knowing,  or perhaps only just met.

This October, Redwood Social is creating an evening around exactly that feeling.

On Friday, October 9 at 6:00 PM, just sixteen guests will join us at Redwood Ranunculus in Felton for A Moody Fall Coursed Dinner, an intimate and fully immersive dining experience created around seasonal food, beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains wines, and the simple magic of gathering around one table.

But this won’t simply be dinner.

Stepping Into Another World

For one evening, we are completely transforming Redwood Ranunculus.

The flower shop will disappear behind layers of rich, dark drapery. Chandeliers and candlelight will cast a warm glow throughout the room. A long table will run through the center of the space, set for only sixteen guests and surrounded by the deep, earthy colors and textures of fall.

Think flickering taper candles, beautiful glassware, seasonal florals, linen, warm metals and layers of fabric cascading through the room.

The idea is that when you walk through the door, you feel as though you’ve stepped somewhere entirely different.

No bright overhead lights. No crowded restaurant. No rushing through dinner.

Just candlelight, incredible food, beautiful wine, music, conversation and an evening designed to unfold slowly.

A Seasonal Coursed Dinner

I’ll be preparing the dinner myself, with a menu inspired by the ingredients and flavors I love most this time of year.

As always, the food will focus on beautiful, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, local and organic whenever possible, and clean oils.

The evening will begin with a small caviar welcome bite and bubbles before we settle around the table for dinner.

The Menu

(Menu subject to slight seasonal changes)

Caviar Welcome Bite
Champagne

Roasted Pumpkin
Lemon yogurt sauce · toasted pepitas · crispy sage

Roasted Chicken
Creamy mushroom pearl couscous

Apple & Pear Mascarpone Galette
Apple cider caramel · vanilla ice cream

Simple ingredients, prepared beautifully, with each course intentionally building on the one before it.

Wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains

What makes this dinner especially exciting is that the meal is being created in partnership with Wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Each course will be paired with a different wine selected to complement the flavors on the plate.

And rather than simply setting a glass in front of you, we’ll have a vintner joining us at the table to walk us through the wines and each pairing — sharing more about what we’re drinking, where it was grown, and why it works with the dish in front of us.

I love the idea of dinner becoming an experience where we aren’t just eating and drinking, but learning a little something along the way.

Only 16 Seats

Part of what I love most about Redwood Social gatherings is keeping them intimate.

There will be only sixteen seats at this table.

Enough people to create energy and conversation, but few enough that by the end of the evening, it feels like everyone has truly shared something together.

Come with a friend, or come on your own. These evenings are about creating a space where we can gather, connect, eat something wonderful and step away from everyday life for a few hours.

An Evening to Linger

More than anything, I want this dinner to feel like fall.

Not pumpkins everywhere or anything overly themed,  but that deeper feeling of the season.

Warmth. Abundance. Candlelight. Good food. Wine being poured. Conversations stretching across the table. That moment when dinner is technically finished, but nobody is quite ready to leave.

A Moody Fall Coursed Dinner is an invitation to slow down, take your seat, and stay awhile.

I can’t wait to welcome you to the table. 🤎
