Immune-Boosting Elderberry Gummies 🍋
These homemade gummies are a fun and tasty way to support your immune system—especially perfect for kids (and adults!) who prefer their vitamins to taste like treats. Made with elderberry, lemon, raw honey, and grass-fed gelatin, they’re packed with wellness in every bite.
Ingredients:
-
1 cup elderberry syrup*
-
Juice of 1 fresh lemon
-
2–3 tablespoons raw honey (adjust to taste)
-
3 tablespoons grass-fed gelatin
*To make elderberry syrup:
Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle simmer, then add 3 tablespoons of dried elderberries. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, then strain and cool slightly before using.
Instructions:
-
Warm the liquid
In a small saucepan over low heat, gently combine the elderberry syrup, fresh lemon juice, and raw honey. Stir occasionally, and do not boil—you want it warm enough to dissolve the gelatin but not hot enough to destroy the nutrients in the honey and elderberries. -
Add the gelatin
Sprinkle in the gelatin while whisking continuously until completely dissolved. This step is key to getting a smooth texture in your gummies. -
Mold the gummies
Pour the warm mixture into silicone molds (you can also use a small glass dish and cut them into squares later). -
Chill
Transfer the molds to the refrigerator and let them set for at least 2 hours, or until firm to the touch. -
Enjoy!
Pop the gummies out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They’ll keep for up to 2 weeks (if they last that long!).
Pro Tip: Take 1–2 gummies daily to support immune health, especially during cold and flu season.
