Heirloom Burrata Toast with Basil and Garlic Olive Oil

 

Serves: 2-4

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 large heirloom tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 baguette
  • 8 oz burrata cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • A bunch of fresh basil leaves

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F to ensure it’s ready for baking the bread.
  2. Prepare the Bread:
    • Cut the baguette in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 4-inch long pieces. Lightly drizzle olive oil over each piece.
    • Place burrata slices evenly on the bread pieces.
    • Transfer to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and the cheese has begun to melt.
  3. Garlic Infused Olive Oil:
    • While the bread bakes, heat 1/4 cup olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until it is lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes, to create a flavorful garlic-infused olive oil.
  4. Assemble the Toast:
    • Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Drizzle a small amount of garlic olive oil over each piece.
    • Arrange fresh basil leaves and heirloom tomato slices on top of the burrata.
    • Finish by drizzling the remaining garlic olive oil over the top, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving Suggestions: Serve immediately while warm, enjoying the blend of creamy burrata, crisp toast, and the fresh flavors of basil and heirloom tomatoes, enhanced by the aromatic garlic olive oil.
